Add a charge point to Zapmap

Add a charge point

Here at Zapmap we’re on a mission to make EV charging simple. As part of this, we provide the widest choice of charging options in the UK, offering the most comprehensive and richest dataset on public charge points.

So, if you find a public charge point that’s not on our UK map, we’d love to know about it.

Please note that Zapmap has direct ‘live data’ feeds from most of the leading charging networks in the UK, which allows us to show live availability status on around 75% of chargers. This means that we rely on the data we are supplied by the networks in these instances, and that we don’t act on user suggestions related to live data partners - so please don’t tell us about charge points for these networks. You can easily tell if a charging provider is a live data partner as there’ll be network availability information for the specific charge point in the app, and in the ‘Networks’ filter on the app live data partners are at the top of the list and have a logo next to their name.

I’ve found a charger that’s not on Zapmap

If the charging network is not a live data partner, then we can look into adding the charge point to our map. The best way to add a charge point you have found is to open the Zapmap app and follow the instructions below:

  1. Make sure you are logged into your Zapmap account.
  2. Open the Settings menu.
  3. Under ‘Add a charge point,’ tap ‘Add public charge point’ as per the screenshot.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

We’re now seeing thousands of chargers being added to Zapmap every month. We review the details of each of these chargers individually to ensure users have the most accurate and comprehensive information when viewing and using chargers on Zapmap.

Typically, it takes between two to four weeks for us to add charge points. In particularly busy times it can take a little longer.

It’s worth noting that, based on feedback from our users, we prioritise adding higher power public chargers. This means slower chargers will typically take a little longer to display than rapid chargers.

Suggesting updates to existing charge points

For any modifications to existing charge points – including any changes in pricing – please make use of the ‘Suggest an update’ feature in the app.

You can find this feature by clicking on a charge point in the app and navigating to the 'Info' section. At the bottom, there is a button to 'Suggest an update,' which submits a change request to our moderators. Please see an example in the screenshot below.

I represent a company that has installed a number of charge points

If your company has installed some charge points and they are not yet showing on Zapmap, you can download this form and let us know about them. Simply complete the relevant details on the form and submit it to data_team@zap-map.com. Please also use the same email address to let us know about any network-wide changes: e.g. changes in tariffs.

Thanks for helping us to make EV charging simple for drivers across the country!
