Tap Electric charging network costs
Cost to charge: 29p/kWh - 72p/kWh depending on charger type and location.
Access is via The Tap Electric app, pricing ranges depending on subscription level. The pay-as-you-go option is free of subscription but charges a 10% transaction fee/session. The top tier subscription level costs £5 per month, but offers a 0% transaction fee per session, a
free Tapkey charge card (RFID card), and the ability to pay for charging session costs monthly.

How to use Tap Electric charge points
Access to the Tap Electric network is via the Tap Electric app.
1. Download the app.
2. The home screen will show you the charger location that you are nearest to based on your geolocation. If you are standing in front of the charger, you can simply press the 'start' button and plug in your car.
3. If you are looking for a charger at your destination, you can search for this in the map screen by navigating to the map icon in the bottom navigation bar.
4. After selecting 'start' you will have roughly a minute to connect your cable and car to the same charger, if you had not done so already.
5. The app will then display the charge session, and you can follow the progress with every update that the charger sends.
6. Time to go? Press stop in the app, or simply unplug your car, and your charging session will come to an end.
Where are Tap Electric charge points located?
All Tap Electric points can be found on Zapmap by using the network filter. This can be used on the desktop and mobile apps, and displays only those points operated by Tap Electric.
Charging types and speeds can be filtered too, showing only those points that are compatible with users’ cars.
Select 'Filters' -> 'Networks' -> 'Tap Electric' to view only Tap Electric charge points.
