Audi has launched a new entry-level model for its pure-electric e-tron line-up – the 50 quattro. Sitting below the 55 quattro in the range, the new version starts at less than £60,000.

Fitted with a smaller capacity battery for a lower price, the 50 quattro uses a 71 kWh pack for a range of 190 miles on a charge. Combined power from the two electric motors is 230 kW (313 hp), and the 50 quattro can be ultra-rapid charged at up to 120 kW.

Audi is including a 7 kW home charger for all customers, topping up the e-tron 50 quattro to full in around 10 hours. The CCS charging inlet is retained, and Audi includes a year’s Transit tariff subscription to the Ionity network with each e-tron sold.

Performance is covered with a 0-62 mph time of 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 118 mph, while ultra-rapid recharging times can be as low as 30 minutes for a charge to 80%.

Available in both e-tron and e-tron Sportback configurations, four trim levels are available at launch – Technik, Sport, S Line, and Launch Edition – starting at £59,900, £62,600, 66,700, and £72,700 respectively.
