Chargemaster has started rolling out installations of its Ultracharger in Q Park car parks across London, with the first rapid charging unit already installed at the parking operator’s Soho site.
Available to use as part of Chargemaster’s Polar network, new Ultracharger units will also be launched at locations in Chinatown and Park Lane later this month.
There are already more than 100 Chargemaster charging points installed at Q Park locations in London, with plans already in place for more as demand is increasing.
The company’s Ultracharger is Chargemaster’s flagship unit, able to charge most electric cars to 80% capacity in 20 minutes. Designed and built in the UK, around 200 of the rapid charge points will be installed across the UK in the next year.
Polar network members can use the Q-Park Ultrachargers for 9p per kW, which means a full charge of a Nissan Leaf for example will cost around £2.50.
