OVO Energy has launched a new bundle for electric vehicle owners with EV Everywhere. The deal sees free membership to Chargemaster’s POLAR Plus network for the company’s home energy customers.
The announcement comes soon after Chargemaster revealed that its charge points will be powered by 100% renewable energy from today (Tuesday 1st August). OVO Energy has confirmed that it will be the exclusive energy provider for Chargemaster, providing this green electricity to EV drivers.
The EV Everywhere tariff offers both POLAR membership and 100% renewable household electricity, meaning that customers can charge their EV anywhere in the greenest possible way – both at home and in public.
OVO Energy will also start rolling out smart charging technology, having acquired ChargedEV and Indra Renewable Technologies to help introduce its VNet system.
The move aims to help build a smart energy grid, and enables the use of vehicle-to-grid charging to help balance the load on the national grid. EV drivers will be able to charge elsewhere, and then sell unused energy back to the grid.

EV Everywhere offers two-year fixed unit rates for renewable home energy supply and free membership to the POLAR network with unlimited access to more than 5,000 charge points nationwide. The tariff also includes complimentary smart meter installation and three percent interest rewards on a credit balance.”
