Osprey Charging Network launches new charging hub in Cardiff

Osprey Charging has boosted access to public charging in Wales with ten new electric vehicle (EV) chargers installed at Capital Shopping Park in Cardiff.

The Cardiff shopping park now offers a range of charging options EV owners, including eight 300kW DC chargers that can add up to 100 miles of range in just 15-20 minutes - depending on the vehicle and its battery. Additionally, there are two AC chargers available for those planning a longer stay.

Osprey’s rapid charge points are compatible with every EV on the market today. Easy to use and designed with simple payment for drivers, Osprey Chargers accept Zap-Pay, contactless bank cards, Apple/Google Pay, the Osprey App, and RFID card payments. 

“The roll-out of EV charging facilities is quickly gathering pace and we’re here to provide a reliable and rapid public charging service for all drivers, from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands," said Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging.

"Osprey now has over 1,100 charge points available to use across the UK, each carefully designed to maximise space, accessibility and made to the latest and highest standards. The new charging site at Capital Shopping Park will form a vital part of the re-charging network that will enable the decarbonisation of transport in the UK.”  

Osprey has funded this installation, operation and oversees maintenance of the chargers which are all supplied with renewable energy. abrdn, the landlord for the site, benefits from a future-proofed car park and being able to attract more EV drivers as customers.

Thanks to a live data partnership with Zapmap, users of the Zapmap app and web map can easily access the live status and availability of all Osprey charge points, making planning for charging simple.
