John o’ Groats is the new home to three new rapid Osprey charge points thanks to a new partnership between the charge point operator and Heritage Great Britain PLC.
This installation is located on the popular North Coast 500 (NC500) touring route, and is expected to encourage EV uptake in the area bolstering the UK’s national charging infrastructure as well as improving local air quality, reducing noise pollution, and supporting local decarbonisation efforts.
Situated next to the John o’ Groats destination, the chargers are an ideal place to charge an EV whilst enjoying a sea view and shopping for souvenirs.
The 75kW charge points can deliver up to 100 miles of range in as little as 35 minutes of charge, depending on the charging capacity of the vehicle and its battery.
The chargers are easy to use and designed with simple payment for drivers, Osprey charge points accept Zap-Pay as well as via the Osprey App, contactless payments and other payment methods.
“We’re delighted to launch this first charging location with Heritage Great Britain and to bring the latest in rapid charging technology to the northernmost point of mainland Britain!” said Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging.
“The electric transition is well underway and we’re here to provide a reliable and rapid public charging service for all drivers, from Cornwall to the top of Scotland.
“Osprey now has over 800 charge points installed across the UK, with each location carefully designed to maximise space, accessibility and availability and made to the latest and highest standards.
“This new charging site at John o’ Groats is a fantastic addition to the re-charging network that will enable the decarbonisation of transport in the UK.”
Osprey is a Zap-Pay and Zapmap Live data partner, meaning that you can search for Osprey charge points and see its live availability and status data, and pay for your charging, all within the Zapmap app, keeping your charging experience simple.
“We are excited to introduce rapid charging facilities at the iconic John o’ Groats destination,” said Allan Leech, CEO at Heritage Great Britain PLC.
