A planning application submitted to Warrington Borough Council's planning chiefs in March to demolish the Esso car wash in Culcheth and replace it with an electric vehicle (EV) charging hub has been approved.
The new EV charging site will be equipped with a canopy, and contain seven charge points provided by the charge point operator (CPO) and independent fuelcourt operator, MFG.
Warrington Borough Council has restricted MFG to operational hours between 6am and 11pm, the council says this is 'to prevent an increase in background noise sound levels and to protect the amenity of any residents.'

MFG are a Zapmap Live data partner, which means that users of the Zapmap app or desktop map can access the live status of MFG charge points at any time to see if they are working, as well as if they are available or in use.
You can pay for EV charging at MFG charge points within the Zapmap app too by using Zap-Pay, our simple payment solution that allows you to pay by credit or debit card, or with Apple Pay or Google Pay.
With Zap-Pay you can check on the status of your charge at any time, view estimated cost and charge time remaining, and access your VAT receipts all in one place.
