The Renault ZOE’s range has been extended to 149 miles courtesy of a new lighter and more compact ‘R240’ electric motor and an optimised electronic management system.
The new R240 motor, designed by Renault engineers, allows the Renault ZOE to add 19 miles to it’s official range, giving it best-in-class credentials.
The new ZOE R240 will be sold next to the existing model; the new model offers a better range, although it is not capable of rapid charging.
The new motor features a fresh version of the Chameleon™ charging system which allows faster charging at home charging units (3-7kW), cutting charging times by up to 10%.
The Renault ZOE R240 can still be charged at 22kW at fast charging points, but does not offer the ability to charge 80% in under 30 minutes at rapid (43kW) points, as the current model does.
By offering both versions of the ZOE, Renault is hoping to provide flexibility and cater to the diverse needs of potential buyers.
