Zap-Map is pleased to announce the release of Zap-Map 3.0 (BETA). The updated map includes new community features (Zap-Chat), improved route-planning and advanced filters to make finding and using charging points around the UK easier for EV drivers.
The UK public charging network is currently made up of over 3500 locations, 5000 devices and 9000 connectors with additional points being added every month. Zap-Map 3.0 aims to provide smart tools to manage the complexity of information in the fragmented UK market and help EV drivers get better charge point information.
The main new features of Zap-Map 3.0 are detailed below:
Zap-Chat
A new community feature accessible from both the charging point and displayed across the site enables registered users to update charge point status, indicate successful charge and improve point details. Users can also post photos of visited charge points.
Route-planning
The enhanced route finder allows users to plan their trip in the EV, and add charge points as waypoints along the route. Users can use all the filtering functionality in the background.
Advanced filters
Several new filters have been added to help users pinpoint a suitable point given EV model, charging methods, accessibility and network considerations.
– EV Model filter: see charging points compatible with a particular EV
– Charge type filters: select charge points on any combination of connectors and speeds
– Network filter: view charge points within different regional or national network
– Payment filter: see charge points which can be used with different payment methods
– Access filter: remove charge points with access restrictions

Zap-Map 3.0 works on mobile devices; for a more optimised mobile experience the Zap-Map app is recommended – the majority of the new Zap-Map features will be available on Zap-Map iOS and Android app within weeks.
