Zest has opened 78 charging spaces at the University of Warwick as part of a £1.3m investment.
The charge point operator will provide and manage charging facilities at the University over the next 15 years.
Both fast and rapid EV chargers have been installed across multiple university car parks, the facilities are projected to save more than 15,000 tonnes of CO2, equivalent to 69 million miles driven in a petrol car.
Recognised for its excellence in transport and future mobility research, the university’s respected academics work with major industry and government to advise and develop green, clean modes of transport, and trial solutions on campus.

"We have been delighted to partner with Zest on this significant step towards sustainable transport solutions on our campus," said George Saxon, Head of Transport Systems & Operations at the University of Warwick.
"The new charging facilities align with our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and supporting those transitioning to electric vehicles. By creating these charging spaces, we are not only enhancing the convenience for our staff, students, and visitors but also supporting the wider shift towards cleaner mobility in the region."

Zest is a Zapmap live data partner, meaning that Zapmap app and web map users are able to see the status and availability of Zest charge points while planning their journey, or en-route to charge.
“Providing abundant charging facilities ahead of demand encourages more people to make the switch to electric vehicles, so Zest is proud to be supporting the University of Warwick as it looks to reduce carbon emissions generated from all forms of transport," said Robin Heap, CEO at Zest.
" After announcing our partnership with the University in May, we’re delighted to already be operating over 60 charging spaces, making public EV charging more accessible for staff, students and visitors alike.”
On 21 November, Warwick Conferences will host the Transport + Energy Forum on the University campus, bringing together over 60 public sector leaders to explore actionable steps in transport decarbonisation and showcase cutting-edge sustainable technology, including a presentation from Zest on its partnership with the University of Warwick.
