The DrivingElectric awards, now in their third year, has for the first time looked at EV charging services and innovations, and Zap-Map is delighted to be named as the inaugural winner of the “Best EV app”.

Richard Ingram, editor of DrivingElectric.com said: “‘Where will I charge it?’ still ranks among the most common concerns of those wondering about making the switch to fully electric motoring. It’s true that electric-car charging points aren’t as immediately obvious as brightly coloured fuel-station forecourts, but there are plenty out there if you’re in the know – and Zap-Map’s app has long been the best way of doing that.

“It’s comprehensive and informative, showing you not just where charging points are, but also what speed they’ll charge your car at and whether they’re available now. Plus, the desktop version can be used for route planning before you set off. All this means Zap-Map really is an essential download for the UK’s electric-car drivers.”

Melanie Shufflebotham, Co-founder and COO of Zap-Map added: “We are really proud to win this award from DrivingElectric. It is a tribute to the hard work across the Zap-Map team, from data management, UI/UX, software development, product management and of course the app developers. At Zap-Map we are focused on the EV driver and we incorporate feedback and new technology to continuously improve the app. As more and more people switch to electric driving, our focus is on making charging simple enabling the EV driver to search, plan and pay for EV charging all in one app.”

Other award winners include Honda, Tesla, InstaVolt, Fiat and many more.
